Button Badges!

Button Badges!

Back in the day, 1977 to be precise, it was hard to call yourself a PUNK if you didn’t have a few button/pin badges on the lapel of your leather jacket (or charity shop cast off if you were skint), next to the odd safety pin and paperclip. At one point I even had a bell! But that was my thing. Anyway, if you did have a few badges there’s a good chance they were made by Joly at Better Badges. He was/is a living legend and his shop in the Portobello Road was a hive of badge stamping, fanzine printing, spliff rolling glory. Almost every band from 76 to 83 had their badges made by Joly. Yep, even ATV and its later incarnation, the Good Missionaries, whose ‘Dave George is weird’ became legendary.

But, get this, Better Badges never made a Sniffin’ Glue button! I thought of it once but ended up just printing it in the glue as a “cut this out and stick it on another badge” gag. I thought it was funny at the time. Anyway, after 46 years we’ve finally got around to making a set of Glue badges, they’re even stuck on a nice piece of card, a future collectable for sure! So, go to our shop, make your purchase, and dig out your old punk jacket. I’m not saying it’ll still fit you, but the Sniffin’ Glue badges will look terrific on it!SG Button Badge Set available here!
